ABOUT THIS EVENT

Project Pet is proud to announce that our Founder & CEO, Marshall Williams, will be featured as a speaker at the My Dog Is My Home Conference 2026.

Marshall will be part of the Opening Plenary: People with Lived Experience as Leaders, Builders, and Changemakers, highlighting a national shift toward community-led solutions in behavioral health, housing, and care.

Representing Oakland on a National Stage

This moment puts Project Pet’s work—and Oakland’s leadership—on a national platform. The conversation centers on a truth we live every day:
People with lived experience aren’t just participants in systems. They are the ones who should be building them.

What We’re Bringing to the Conversation

Project Pet’s model sits at the intersection of:

  • Behavioral health
  • Animal welfare
  • Outreach and case management
  • Workforce development through lived experience

We use the human–animal bond as a bridge—connecting people to care, stabilizing lives, and building pathways forward without separation from their pets.

Why This Matters

As systems across the country search for better ways to engage communities, this conference is spotlighting what’s already working:

Trust-based, peer-led, culturally grounded approaches to healing.

Project Pet is proud to contribute to that national conversation—and bring those insights back home to Oakland.

The Bottom Line

From Oakland to the national stage—Project Pet is helping shape the future of care.

Oakland in the building.

Project Pet’s Founder, Marshall Williams, is speaking at the My Dog Is My Home Conference 2026—joining a national conversation on lived experience, leadership, and community-led healing.

This is what it looks like when the people closest to the work help shape the future. #ProjectPet #OneHealth #LivedExperience #Oakland #BehavioralHealth #MyDogIsMyHome
